Ever heard some music and wondered who it was? well if this is you then you need Shazam! Set it into tag mode let it record a little bit of the song, doesnt matter how long the song has been playing and it will go off and fetch all the info you need!

Ive tested it on new/old/fast/slow/remixes and it has worked everytime for me, really impressed!

Give it ago, i think it was under the entertainment section in the APP store.

If you have Mac OS X, open Terminal from Applications:Utilities. Enter the following commands into the Terminal window:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes StoreActivationMode -boolean NO
defaults write com.apple.iTunes StoreGeniusMode -boolean NO
killall iTunesHelper
rm -r /Applications/iTunes.app
rm -r /Library/Receipts/iTunesX.pkg
rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iTunes*
sudo rm -r /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework

Step Two
Install iTunes 7.5 onto your computer using the download links provided above.

Step Three
Before attempting to launch iTunes 7.5 for the first time you need to delete or rename the iTunes folder.

Windows:
Rename the C:\Documents and Settings\**your user name**\My Documents\My Music\iTunes folder to iTunes Backup.

Mac OS X:
Select the iTunes folder in your Music directory and rename it iTunes Backup. You press the Enter key to rename a file in Mac OS X.

Step Four
Launch iTunes by selecting its icon in the dock.

So we’ve been working hard on getting the release ready and during this process we’ve been fixing some final bugs, the actual base of PwnageTool application is working fine and working with all devices that we support. We’ve been restoring our devices to various firmware revisions so that we can try to reproduce the conditions that most users will have. We are able to fully install any applications on any part of the current devices running 2.0 (and b103) and these versions are the iPhone 114, iPhone 2.0, iPhone 3G.

Apple released an update (b103) just before we were about to release and that support had to be added to the current version, it is pointless to release something that doesn’t work on devices out of the box (we’ve been told new 3Gs will have this firmware), we don’t want drama, and we want to do as little support as possible, so we want to make it right the first time.

It was lucky that we delayed slightly as we discovered a bug that causes unexpected behavior when using AppStore and third party applications on the same device. We are working on fixing that bug now, we don’t anticipate it is a big one, it has some really odd side effects, causing WiFi dropouts and the loss of stored passwords for WiFi networks. Of course this is only a minor software issue, nothing like the horrible static MAC address that another “elite byte adjuster” forced upon their users.

So, currently (when released) PwnageTool 2.0 will support:-

iPhone (1st Gen) with 2.0 - Activated, Unlocked & Jailbroken, (with support for third party applications).

iPod Touch with 2.0 - Activated & Jailbroken, (with support for third party applications).

iPhone (3G) with 2.0 - Activated, Jailbroken (with  support for third party applications).

We’ve made some progress on the baseband unlock of the 3G device, but at this point PwnageTool will not support 3G unlocking or BootNeuter on the 3G device. It is, of course supported on the first generation device with 2.0. We’ll push out an update with 3G support if and when it is completed.

As soon as we fix this up and test a bit more we’ll be ready for release, we’ll get back to you with a release schedule soon.

Please loosen that seatbelt slightly while our cabin crew serve you complimentary drinks.

So fingers crossed sometime over the weekend i will be able to update to firmware 2.0!

1. Download the 1.1.4 restore firmware the links can be found here (make sure you select the iPhone and not iPod Touch)
2. While the firmware is downloading you will need to remove iTunes from your machine, do this the normal way via control panel. (when it asks to reboot you must reboot)
3. Download & install iTunes version 7.5 this can be downloaded from here
4. When you try launching iTunes you will get an error cant remember the exact one but it will be something about the library was created with a higher version of iTunes. You will need to go to My Documents, My Music and delete the iTunes folder. Now try iTunes again.
5. You will need to put your iPhone in the DFU mode in order to restore, find out how to here
6. Now you will need to try and restore the firmware, you do this by holding the shift key and pressing the restore button, browse to where you downloaded the 1.1.4 restore firmware to and select.
7. iTunes will now try and restore, you will see the usual but should recieve an error message about 5/10 minutes into the process, this is fine and perfectly normal.
8. Now that you have 1.1.4 restored you should see the phone still in recovery mode.
9. You will now need to downgrade your baseband, to do this you will need to download the patched version of ZiPhone which will downgrade your baseband. This can be downloaded from here
10. You will need to put a tick in the Downgrade baseband, debug mode and ierase. Let this complete.
11. Now you need to do a restore in iTunes again with the 1.1.4 firmware.
12. Unlock/Jailbreak with using ZiPhone or iliberty (which ever you prefer)

Now you should have a working iPhone again. Please post comments and let me know if this worked for you.
